Sterile Processing Water

Complete high purity water treatment systems designed to remove residual contaminants from tap water providing cleaner water for cleaning, disinfection and sterilization. Field proven in medical facilities across North America, our sterile processing water treatment systems use minimal floor space and are designed to minimize maintenance and deliver greater energy efficiency while providing cleaner water for cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilization.

The quality of water is important to the operation of sterile processing equipment. Water can actually be detrimental to washing, disinfection and sterilization equipment, and to the condition and life of surgical instruments, if it does not meet manufacturers’ specifications. Some of the systems that require high purity water include: Automated Endoscope Reprocessors (AERs), Stills and Steam Disinfection Boilers, Medical Washers / Disinfectors and Glassware Washers.

Recently AAMI (Association of the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation) published ANSI/AAMI ST108:2023 Water for the Processing of Medical Devices, which replaces the AAMI TIR34 guidelines. The purpose of this standard is to establish quality criteria for various types of water utilized in the processing of medical devices. It also offers guidance on the appropriate times and contexts for the use of each water category. These standards are divided into three segments for medical device reprocessing: utility water, critical water and steam. Critical water is held to a higher level. This water is treated to ensure microorganisms and inorganic and organic material are removed and is used for the final rinse and for producing steam.

AAMI ST108 places significant importance on:

• Proper Water System Design

• Distribution Loop Design

• Monitoring of the Water System

• Routine Water Quality Testing

• Routine Maintenance And Disinfection

Hospital staff sill need to develop:

• A Water System Management Program

• Cross-Functional Team With Assigned Responsibilities

• Validation and Risk Assessment Protocols For The Water System

AmeriWater’s water filtration systems meet the AAMI ST108 water quality specifications for washers, disinfectors, glassware washers, steam boilers and final rinses. Our water systems combined with proper maintenance and monitoring will help you to meet the ST108 requirements.

Sterile Processing Water System – less than 50

Water treatment system for central sterile processing

For Applications Requiring Less Than 50 Gallons Per Hour*.

AmeriWater’s water treatment system for central sterile processing, model 00HC-2002, provides deionized water for a single washer/disinfector or sterilizer with very little maintenance. The system provides 1M ohm/cm minimum quality water. On-board recirculation pump with on/off switch keeps the water moving, which helps maintain high quality water at all times. Includes carbon block prefilter and worker/polisher mixed bed deionizer packs. When the indicator light changes from green to red (and alarm sounds), simply remove the lids and exchange the resin packs. Resin packs are not disposed of but regenerated by AmeriWater. Flow rate is up to 3 GPM. Cart mounted with casters.

* Capacity is dependent upon incoming water quality. A water analysis of the incoming water supply is recommended prior to selecting this model.

Generally, there are three types of water used in car washes, hard water, soft water, and reverse osmosis water.
Generally, there are three types of water used in car washes, hard water, soft water, and reverse osmosis water. It is important to know when to utilize each type of water in a car wash because each has an impact on producing a clean and dry car.

Hard water creates problems when used with detergents and presoaks by reacting with some of the components in those products. However waxes and drying agents work best with hard water.

Soft water produces the highest foam levels and most consistent cleaning performance. Soft water is created in a water softener by replacing hard ions with sodium ions. Unlike hard water with hard ions, sodium ions do not have any negative effect on detergents and presoaks, making it the best choice for the wash component of a car wash. Good Water Company has been a leader in commercial water softener technology for over 20 years. We have a variety of water softeners for you to choose from so you can find the one that works best for your car wash facility. Our team of experts can even design custom, efficient, high-capacity water softeners for any application.

Soft water often leaves behind white spots caused from the sodium deposits. This creates a need for reverse osmosis rinse water. This water displaces the sodium mineral deposits and leaves the water essentially spotless. Only Good Water Company can provide the consistent purity and quality from our reverse osmosis systems required to produce the cleanest and driest car possible.
